Community and Peer Education Center (CPEC) has been established for a year and a half! – Yu-

The Community and Peer Education Center was founded with the educational purpose of "Diverse Connections, Experiential Learning." We hope that students can create different interpersonal connection domains beyond professional education at the department, spanning campuses, and even extending beyond the campus. Through diverse activities such as field trips, hands-on projects, and themed workshops, students have the chance to "go to places they have never been and meet people they have never seen." Driven by community connections, they gain the soft skills of "self-exploration, community connection, and understanding the world".

Since its establishment, we have promoted two diverse community connection platforms: "Joy For Young, the Liberal Arts Cross-Disciplinary Community" and "Active Learning, the Student Autonomous Learning Community." We also have platforms connecting with local and global communities, such as the "SDGs Series Activities." To help students record their learning experiences, we developed E-Portfolio. We have also organized the "Climbing High and Going Far" special event after the joint schools of NYMU and NCTU, featuring the " NYCU, 17GO, Hsinchu Coastal Bike Ride". Additionally, we redefined the Y and C in NYCU, making every campus part of the "N-Your-Campus-U Campus Connection Project."

Every time we recount these activities, there is a profound sense of inspiration! In last week, we held the end-of-term competition and exchange meeting of Active Learning, 31 completed community projects used a three-minute video to review this year's activities and received feedback and questions from the judging teachers. We were seeing students showcase their achievements over the past year and the confidence and radiance emanating from these accomplishments was truly astonishing! While watching the videos, students were already eager to grab the microphone, narrating what the pictures represented, what they did at that time, and the feedback from participants. As viewers, we felt like we were on a journey with them toward their goals, greatly inspired. Among these 31 communities, some evolved from existing teams, while others were entirely new ideas. During the presentation, a student asked on Slido that they wanted to excel, but they were just getting started, unlike other teams that already had excellent results. Judges, including Professor Tsai Xin-Zhang from the NTNU and Professor Li Yu-qi from the NUK, drew on their years of teaching, leading, and participating in communities to share the challenges of the group at various stages. Professor Jian Shi-yin from CGU encouraged everyone to explore further. Our Deputy Director, Chen Yi-ping, in his steady and powerful words, conveyed courage to attempt new things, the transmission of experience, and a secure support network, allowing students to explore freely on campus.

Looking ahead to the future, we hope that every student participating in the  Community and Peer Education Center can leave the campus with such active participation and autonomous learning, which will become lifelong companions in their journey.
